FAQ - General

Why do you use certified organic products?
It is our company's philosophy to use only high quality, nutritious products. To achieve this goal,  we use certified organic, or organically grown products wherever possible.

What is the origin of your different products?
Australian Tropical Products only sells products produced in Australia. Most products are produced locally on the Atherton Tablelands in Tropical North Queensland.

Do you accept cheques?
No,  we do not accept cheques with the Shopping Cart. We accept Pay Pal, Visa, Master Card and Money order.
If you do not have one of the mentioned payment options please contact us before proceeding with an order at sales@australiantropicalproducts.com.au.

If you do need to pay by cheque,  you will need to order manually. Please keep in mind, that we will not despatch products until your cheque has been cleared. An additional handling charge of $5 will apply.

Do you accept cash on delivery?
No. As an alternative,  please purchase a money order from Australia Post.   Please keep in mind, we do not send any products until payment has arrived.

I don’t have a Paypal account, how can I pay?
You do not need to have a Paypal account.  An alternative option is payment by credit card (Master or Visa card). The first time you use this method, you will be asked to register, however, in any future transactions, your registration will be recognised when you log in.

Why do you use  Express Post?
Our products are of the highest quality and it is important to us that they arrive at their destination, in Australia, as quickly and safely as possible. This is guaranteed by Australia Post's Express Service.

FAQ - Pumpkin Seed Oil

What is so special about the unsaturated fatty acids in the organic “Walsh River Farm” Pumpkin Seed Oil?
Our organic Pumpkin Seed Oil contains unsaturated fats, for example Oleic acid OMEGA  9, linolenic acid  Omega 6 & Omega 3.

Does this  Pumpkin Seed Oil contain Vitamins?
Yes, the “Walsh River Farm“ Pumpkin Seed Oil is a great source of Vitamins
 A, B1, B2, B6, C, D, E, and Vitamin K.

Are there any minerals in Pumpkin Seed Oil?
Yes, the “Walsh River Farm” Pumpkin Seed Oil is a great source of many minerals, including Calcium and Magnesium, necessary for optimum health.

Are there Antioxidants in your Pumpkin Seed Oil?
Yes, recent research at the University of Graz (Austria) shows that
Pumpkin Seed Oil contains many more antioxidants than other vegetable oils.

What are the main uses for Pumpkin Seed Oil?
The main fields of application of our products are in different  kinds of salad dressings. They provide a deliciously nutty taste.  Just add a few drops to make a treat out of fish, prawns/shrimps, scrambled eggs, soups, Asian dishes, even vanilla ice cream, and many other goodies. See Recipes.

Can I boil Pumpkin Seed Oil or  use it in cooked meals?
The quality of Pumpkin Seed Oil will be lost if heated above 65 degrees C. It is ok if you drizzle the Pumpkin Seed Oil over cooked meals or for example in a soup.

How should I store Pumpkin Seed Oil?
The best way to store Pumpkin Seed Oil is in a dark & cool cupboard.  Sunlight and heat destroy the excellent quality of our oil.

Where do these special Pumpkin Seeds, used to produce the famous Pumpkin Seed Oil, come from?
Originally, Christopher Columbus brought pumpkins from South America to Europe.
Today, this very special type of pumpkin seed, from Austria,  carries the name of “Cucurbita Pepo Var Styriaca” or just  “Oil Pumpkin”.  It is a cold pressed Pumpkin Oil produced at the “Walsh River Farm” located in North Queensland…just for you….Give it a try, you’ll love it.

FAQ - Pumpkin Seeds

Do the pumpkin seeds offered by Australian Tropical Products have a shell?
No, this kind of Pumpkin Seed has no shell only a dark green skin. In this skin there a the most nutrients. You can eat the seed straight away including the skin.

What kind of salt is used for the roasted and salted snack seeds?
The seeds are dipped in sea-salt water, dried in the sun and then roasted. This gives a fine, salty taste without too much saltiness.

Are the Pumpkin Seeds certified organic?
Yes. The seeds are certified organic and conform to the highest quality standards. We only use certified organic seeds.
 
Where does this Special Pumpkin originate from?
Originally Christopher Columbus brought the pumpkin from South America to Europe.  In Styria, the south-east region of Austria,they are very common. The botanical name of the pumpkin is
"Cucurbita Pepo var. Styriaca" or simply the “Oil Pumpkin”.

Do Pumpkin Seeds help with prostate problems?
In Styriaca (Austria), where the pumpkin originated, there are no known prostate or menopausal problems. The pumpkin seed may prevent prostate problems and assist in treatment in its initial stage. Medical advice is recommended.

What happens with the rest of the Pumpkin if you are only using the Seeds?
This kind of pumpkin is really only grown for its seeds.  Seeds are harvested using a specially designed harvester directly from the field. The harvester picks up the pumpkin, crushes it then  separates the seeds and flesh. The seeds are collected in the harvester and the flesh is returned to the soil as natural green manure.

What about the unsaturated fatty acids in the Pumpkin Seeds?
There are poly and mono unsaturated fatty acids in our Pumpkin Seeds (oleic Omega 9, Linoleic Omega 6 and Omega 3). 

Do Pumpkin Seeds have vitamins?
Yes, our Pumpkin Seed Oil is a great source of Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, D, E, and K.

Do Pumpkin Seeds have Minerals?
Yes Pumpkin Seed Oil is a great source of minerals including calcium and magnesium

Do you use imported Pumpkin Seeds?
Trend Products APA Pty (Producer) only uses certified organic pumpkin seeds.  Due to overwhelming demand, Trend Products decided to import Certified Organic Pumpkin Seeds from Austria. This is in addition to the seeds grown at the Walsh River Farm.  The importation of pumpkin seeds will only continue until there is enough locally grown and certified organic pumpkin seeds in Australia.

Do the Pumpkin Seeds have Antioxidants?
Yes. In addition to many Antioxidants Pumpkin Seeds have also trace elements like Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Copper, Manganese, Selenium, Zinc and important Vitamins (E, B1, B2, B6, C, A, D).

Does the Beef Jerky have Proteins?
Yes, the Beef Jerky is very high in proteins, because it derives from grass fed beef.


What’s about the fat?
This Beef Jerky has a very low fat content, because we select only free range and grass fed cattle.

Are the Nut Bars “Gluten, Dairy and Wheat Free”?
Yes! Aussie Snax and Kuranda Bars are Free of any “Gluten, Dairy or Wheat".

Do you use artificial Colours and Preservatives?
No! Aussie Snax and Kuranda Bars are FREE of any artificial Colours and Preservatives.

Do you add any Sugar in the Nut Bars?
No! We don’t use any added Sugar in the Aussie Snax and Kuranda Bars (except Choco Bite). The Nut Bars are sweetened only with Honey.

Do you also have Peanut Free Bars?
Yes! The Aussie Snax "Almond Nut Snak Bar" has no Peanuts. As well the Pumpkin Seed Bar, which is free of any nuts.

What is the difference between Aussie Snax / Kuranda Bars and
Pumpkin Seed Bars?
Aussie Snax and Kuranda Bars are both made from a variety of nuts and seeds. The name of the bar determinates the main amount of nuts in the bars.  The Pumpkin Seed Bar is free of any nuts.

What is "Gluten"
“Gluten is an amorphous mixture of ergastic (i.e. non-living) Proteins found combined with starch in the Endosperm of some cereals, notably wheat, rye, and barley. It constitutes about 80% of the proteins contained in wheat, and is composed of the proteins gliadin and glutenin. No, it is not possible to track an Australia Post Express parcel with the Internet.

In reply we will send you your parcel number to enable you to follow up with your Post Office where your parcel is.

 

Is my parcel registered?

No, actually we only register parcels on customer demand.
